This two-day program exceeds Nevada’s required course content and qualification standards for security firearms training. PFC’s brand and reputation depend on the performance of our graduating students. Our students’ life and livelihood may depend upon their ability to perform properly on demand. Accordingly, this PFC presentation of the Nevada Armed Guard Card training is 16 hours in duration and it contains additional content that is imperative for preparing students to carry (and potentially use) a firearm in the conduct of their official duties. The professional instruction delivered is both academic and practical in nature with an emphasis on responsible gun handling, security officer conduct, and use-of-force decision-making. Graduates must successfully pass a state mandated written examination and a state approved qualification course of fire in order to receive their NV Armed Guard Card. The possession of this card does not entitle the bearer to carry their firearm concealed. Successful completion of this course, however, will satisfy Nevada CCW’s training requirements should students have a need or desire to obtain a NV CCW permit (or renew it). As an even greater bonus, students will also receive training in select instructional blocks from the Progressive Handgun 1 (PH1) curriculum that focuses on the “Fighting Foundation” of modern defensive pistol skills. Participants in this course will receive the highest standard of Armed Security Officer training presently offered anywhere in the State of Nevada. Security personnel completing ASOC will be distinguished as being safer, more highly trained, and capable of better judgment thereby reducing risk for employers, clients and the public. Successful graduates of this program will earn Nevada Armed Security Guard Card Training and Nevada Concealed Carry Weapons Training certificates.
NOTE: Students attending must bring a properly completed State of Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board “Verification of Employment for Armed Security” Form (Revision 6/2009) or provisional paper, their driver’s license, and their valid Nevada Registration Work Card issued by PILB (not Clark County) that states “Unarmed.” Students MUST present these documents to the instructor at the beginning of class or they will not be allowed to participate in training.

Length: Days / 40-Hours Enrollment: Open to security personnel, law enforcement, corrections, government employees and contractors, and Department of Defense Pre-requisite: None Cost: $795.00 per student
This course, systematically scheduled throughout the year, provides armed personnel with the opportunity to maintain and enhance their current level of proficiency relative to skill-sets gained through attending BSPOT or other handgun training programs. Physical skills are perishable skills, and the proper, efficient, and consistent practice of skills gained will help ensure they are available when needed. Live fire drills and exercises will be performed under the watchful and knowledgeable eyes of certified and qualified PFC Instructors.
For those who have yet to attend BSPOT or another formal firearms training indoctrination program, participating in this course will serve as an opportunity for self-assessment, providing you a controlled environment in which you can assess your current level of proficiencies and weigh your current knowledge against that to which you may never have had previous exposure. Contrary to the old adage, “Ignorance is Bliss,” one never can fully realize what they “don’t know” until they are exposed to it. Professionals are always learning, training, and improving, and this course is ideal for the armed professional that must remain current for both practical and legal purposes.
Length: 1 Day Enrollment: Open to security personnel, law enforcement, corrections, government employees and contractors, and Department of Defense Pre-requisite: None Cost: $175.00 per student
The Active Violence Responder Course is a 2-day training event designed to impart the core principles, tactics, techniques and procedures involved in locating and closing with armed adversaries within common structures. During classroom instruction, students will learn about the dynamics of Active Violence scenarios, crisis response and on-scene actions, tactical priorities, and case studies. Using conventional and modern tactics during practical application, environmental tactical problems addressed by participants will include corners, common rooms, open and closed door entries, confined spaces, hallways, stairs, T-intersections, opposing doorways, close quarters confrontations, and much more. Students will also receive instruction on multi-point entries, noise/flash diversionary device deployment, mechanical breaching, low-light operations, and rapid deployment concepts. Ultimately, students will develop solutions for actively responding to an adversary who poses an immediate threat by a firearm or other deadly weapon.
