PFC Welcomes Tony Shepherd!

Anthony “Tony” Shepherd, CPP (above right) is an expert security strategist specializing in high-end private, corporate and government protective services. He has diverse experience in both the business and daily operational aspects of providing security services through his roles as a CEO, COO, and GM, over a career spanning 30+ years, including 18 years at Department of Energy/NNSA facilities.

Tony’s experience is defined by strategically directing multi-million dollar, multi-year security and protection contracts for federal and international government clients, and consistently delivering unparalleled performance and cost savings. Tony is well-versed in maintaining protective force effectiveness and efficiency through a combination of operational approaches in direct protective force personnel management and maximizing the use of security systems with new technology to address changing requirements.

Tony received letters of commendation from DOE HQ and shared the DOE Secretary’s Gold Medal with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve project team for successfully managing and securing the petroleum reserve during hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Throughout his career, Mr. Shepherd has established broad security strategies, policies, guidelines, standards, and protocols. He has a proven ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization up through the executive and board levels regarding the status of security issues. Tony is an effective consensus builder, has significant experience managing and executing agreements with bargaining units, and is able to lead operations in the face of often-conflicting regulations and under difficult physical conditions.

For most of his adult life, Tony has participated in auto racing events, behind the wheel of a race car, or teaching racing students. Now a lifetime member of the SCCA, he brings those skills to the PFC classroom and track with single and multi-day training program curriculum meeting PFC client needs for all manner of driving requirements.

Tony now serves in a full-time capacity at PFC Headquarters in Las Vegas, NV as the President of PFC Safeguards, LLC.  Additionally, our driving program students will see a lot of him as Lead Instructor for PDOC, TDOC, and three new PFC driver training courses set to be unveiled soon.

Over the years numerous research studies have proven that the most effective solution to maintaining proficiency with regard to perishable skills is periodic refresher training. More importantly, anecdotal evidence borne out of numerous violent or potentially deadly encounters has proven that the higher the proficiency level of the officer or agent the more likely they are to prevail at the moment when it means the most – when lives are on the line and time is of the essence…. READ FULL ARTICLE HERE
